as much as i love sharing our day to day activities, my boys are entering a time in their life when i must respect their privacy. my hope is to continue to capture the day to day as these last three years have been so valuable for me personally as a mother. i am amazed at the changes these kids have undergone when in real life they seem to look the same to me each day. it is only when i look back, do i realize they were once so small.

with that being said, i have a plan in the works for this spot and hope to share soon. (a hint below)

a gracious offer came our way to travel to the atlantis in the bahamas from our dear college friend kristen. back in june, after a dinner and a couple of glasses of wine we all agreed that we should try to make it happen. our friend Hope got the ball rolling booking her flight the next week. as the months passed and the trip was getting closer, it was time to commit, but leaving home (there are 17 kids between the 6 of us) was becoming more of a challenge. the schedules and commitments we find ourselves doing daily were becoming overwhelming to pass onto someone else to do while we were away for a few days. none of us had done anything like this before. (well most of us!) but as you know, life continues even though you are not there. so, we were all in. even though there was anxiety about flying, anxiety about leaving our families, hurricane watches, and rain in the forecast. we laughed hard for 5 days straight. no kidding. really hard. i am so grateful to have these women in my life.

when we were younger, we backpacked through europe together. i can't believe my mom allowed us to go. no cell phones back then. no reservations anywhere. just a eurorail pass, a passport, a backpack and an itinerary of some cities we wanted to see. man i was brave. but i had lyn. actually, she had me. i remember my parents dropping us off at the airport and lyn ran down her checklist of things she had..."i got my backpack....my money.....my passport....and my sister!"
